Compare a scene with a map
Sketch the movements described in a scene and mark where the text is specific or ambiguous. Use a map as another source, not as proof that an invented route must exist. Note how the setting helps the story work.
Keep the finished note with its date and source material. Return to it when you repeat the exercise, and add what changed rather than replacing the earlier observation.
